Pasar , bahasa word meaning "Market"

I went to do some trade visits with my team in one "pasar" in the outskirts of Jakarta and I was surprised once again in the feeling of "just like home" that the visit gave me. Manila and Jakarta does have a lot of similarities.

(Entering one store, sensing a movement above me, I took a snapshot of a shop boy handing down his merchandise to the waiting hands of a customer.)

Business is bustling, people jostling here and there. Each shop is practically bursting with products from floor to ceiling. Every space available is utilized and stacked with all sorts of products, mostly biscuits, snacks and powdered drinks in small sachets.
Going outside is a refreshment in itself. Took snapshots of a very creative fish vendor on a side street. His rolling shop is pure eye-candy to children at heart.

Becak (pronounced as bejak) is the number one means of transport for housewives in the pasar.

Eating streetfood cooked to perfection is one way to treat oneself for a rigorous trip to the pasar.

In a side-street cafe, you sit down to the stories of a very insightful vendor, jovial and welcoming.

there's nothing like sariwangi tea in the late afternoon for weary "bejak" drivers around the pasar
